Be Here Now

I led the “Four Steps to Take Back Your Summer” workshop twice last week. It was so fun! I shared some juicy insights into how we lose time and how to reclaim it. Since those workshops I have heard from participants that one of the steps that really hit home with them was to “Be Here Now”.

When you are hanging out at home on a Saturday with the family but your mind is replaying over and over the conversation you had with your boss on Friday, you’re not really home. You’re missing out on time with the people who matter to you.

The “Be Here Now” step reminds us to shift our focus back to the present moment and engage in what is going on right in front of us. There is no faster way to lose time than to mentally be somewhere else. And let’s be honest, no problem at work is going to be solved by you worrying about it. So either intentionally set aside time to come up with a solution or be engaged with what is happening right now. Because having your body in one place and your mind in another is stealing your time.

I’d love to hear if you’re familiar with mentally being somewhere else and what you’ve done or will start doing now to reclaim that time. Share in the comments below or email me: info(at)jennifersherwood(dot)com
