"We can only accept the amount of love from others that we have for ourselves" Kara Lowentheil
Hearing this for the first time turned me on my head. 🤯
Women get the message in subtle (& not so subtle ways) that we should put everyone else’s needs first. Being selfless is admirable. That our value is tied to doing.
Women AREN'T taught that we are worthy in & of ourselves.
In our society, women, minorities, the LGBTQ community, disabled people, and others that I’m sure I’ve missed are marginalized, devalued, & made to feel less than.
This is the quiet programming that is passed down & reinforced in so many arenas. We’re often not even aware of it.
If you don’t love yourself more than the programming says you that you should, you won’t believe that you deserve more.
Let that sink in…
What that means is if the world tells you that you’re not good enough and you believe it-which most of women do-you’ll think this is as good as it gets & not go after more.
Loving yourself in spite of all the programming is...
Radical
Revolutionary
And long overdue
Imagine a world where people genuinely love & value themselves. There'd be no need to compare or tear each other down.
That’s the world I want to live in.
It starts simply with not listening to the BS anymore & deciding to LOVE yourself.
How about you? Will you join me in the revolution?
