Generate Confidence With the Strength of the Whole Group Behind You

I'm 51.

I lost my virginity at 15.

On August 15.

I saw that date on the calendar & noticed the play between numbers 15 & 51.

I love seeing repeated or connected numbers.

It got me thinking about that 15-year-old girl.

She was so young.

And desperate.

For love...

Attention...

Connection...

To feel like she mattered.

I didn't know it at the time, but somewhere deep down sex & love were all mixed up. I think I believed that if I had sex it would solidify something & I'd be deeply loved & never feel alone or unworthy.

We all know how that goes.

As girls & young women we're not really taught that the love that matters most is what we have for ourselves.

And if we do stumble on those concepts, they're usually drowned out by the messages we're bombarded with about doing whatever is necessary to look good, feel good, & be liked or accepted.

AND how other girls are competition.

It sets us up to not trust ourselves or women around us. It disconnects us from our bodies & our worth. And leaves us blowing in the wind looking for an anchor like 15-year-old me.

If I could talk to her now, I'd tell her how much she had going for her & encourage her to love herself from the inside out-no matter what any other humans-including boys & brothers said!

I'd embolden her to embrace her goofy side & not listen to the voices that told her she was stupid or unlovable.

I'd tell her to go find her best friend & trust her AND build good loving relationships with other women-not everyone is out to get you & you can survive those who are without cutting yourself off from everyone.

I hear it in the women I work with today.

We're so reticent to trust other women, we've gotten burned in the past & it's too damn hard to make friends now.

Women crave female friendships & they just don't know how to trust.

So, what's a gal to do?

I heard the cry for connection from my community a few months back & answered it.

I launched a coaching group called The GC.

The GC is a private group where everyone has agreed to hold confidentiality & bring our whole selves in support of our own growth AND of each other.

The women of The GC genuinely want something better for themselves & for you. I wish I could bottle their support of one another & spread it around like fairy dust. It's that magical.
